Haldimand and Norfolk County won’t be among the public health regions allowed to move into Stage 2 of the province’s reopening on Friday.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford was joined by Cabinet Minister’s Christine Elliott, Vic Fedeli and Monte McNaughton today for his announcement.
Ford explained that they’re moving forward based on consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health and local health officials.
Health Minister Christine Elliott explains that Haldimand-Norfolk will not be joining Stage 2 of reopening.
Once we are cleared to move into Stage 2, hairdressers, personal care services (except for facial services), malls with food courts restricting access to take out, pools, splash pads, more camping, beaches, libraries, community centres and more will reopen.
Ford adds that all places of worship in Ontario will also be permitted to open with physical distancing in place and attendance limited to no more than 30 percent of the building capacity.
Ford says they will also be increasing the social gathering limit from 5 to 10.
The Premier says they will share more details about childcare reopening tomorrow (Tuesday, June 9th).
