
The Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit has declared an outbreak of COVID-19 at the Caressant Care Courtland long-term care facility.
In a media release, they stated that one staff member has tested positive.
That staff member is not working at the facility and is in self-isolation at home.
According to the Health Unit, all residents and staff will be tested.
No residents have currently tested positive for COVID-19 but all residents are in self-isolation in their rooms where they are also receiving their meals.
The Health Unit reports that staff are wearing full personal protective equipment.
Also, in their release, the Health Unit says they are conducting an outbreak investigation at a seasonal agricultural worker’s residence.
As of now, there have been no confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 at the residence.
As a precaution, Health Unit staff have initiated a public health management plan.
