The Simcoe Caring Cupboard will be open tomorrow (Thursday).
Administrator Al Martens let myFM know that they will be open from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. tomorrow with an option to go longer if need be.
He said the public has been very generous lately and they are well stocked to help the community.
That being said, he said that can change quickly.
To respond to COVID-19 concerns and social distancing they will be limiting the amount of people allowed in, as they typically all 5 shopping carts but will only allow 3 in at a time tomorrow.
He adds that those who show up will need to prove that they are in need of assistance as this is not a free grocery store – it’s intended to help those in need in our community.
That being said, he said that could include people who would typically have a job but have been laid off or chosen to take time off and are waiting for EI to kick in.
