Greg and Rose Yerex are back home.
The Port Dover couple spent two weeks stuck on a quarantined ship in Japan following a coronavirus outbreak.
Days before being sent home they hit another snag as they both tested positive for COVID-19.
Instead of going back to Canada, they were sent to a medical facility in Japan.
The couple remained at the university hospital for several more days and were told they could return home after receiving two negative tests for the virus.
Rose quickly received her two negative results but it wasn’t until a Tuesday (March 3rd) the Greg got his second negative.
In a social media post, Rose says they flew into Toronto last night and enjoyed a glass of wine and enjoyed a night in their own bed.
She also wanted to ensure the community the Public Health has cleared them to go home, but they are choosing to stay in self-isolation until March 14th.

WE ARE HOME!!!
We flew into Toronto Airport last night and enjoyed a glass of wine. 30 hours of travel time and we were exhausted! What pleasure to be in our own space, and our own bed. And to wake up this morning to freshly brewed coffee.
Thank you, thank you and more thank yous to all of you who have offered such love and support throughout this stressful experience. I cannot even begin to tell you how much it has meant to both Greg and myself.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone, BUT, not right away.
We have been cleared by the Public Health Agency of Canada, but we want to ensure that our community, our friends and our family are all protected from this Covid-19 virus. We have decided to stay relatively isolated from people, especially large groups, until March 14. After that, then let’s party!!!!!…..Rose Yerex
I too want to express my gratitude to family and friends both old and new and especially to my wife for seeing me through one of the worst experiences of my life. As Rose stated, the safety of our community is first and foremost in our hearts and minds so with that look for us March 15th when we will finally be free of any worries. A special thanks to Moon and Julie for coming to our rescue. There is no place like home.
