
One suspect at the heart of a criminal investigation is facing dozens of new charges.
In early November, Elgin OPP arrested a man and woman from Dutton-Dunwich who they believe were those responsible for a string of thefts across Southwestern Ontario.
The thieves would target homes while the homeowner was away at a funeral with guns being a large target.
45-year-old Krystle Oag and 55-year-old Ian Scott both faced a slew of charges but now police are adding more to the list for Oag.
On top of the 47 charges laid against Oag, police added an additional 48.
Oag was initially charged with:
Break and enter
Possess break in instruments
Obstruct peace officer
Removing vehicle identification number
Assault peace officer (two counts)
Possession of property obtained by crime (16 counts)
Possession of a firearm obtained by crime (18 counts)
Careless storage of a firearm obtained by crime (four counts)
Possession of a prohibited device (three counts)
She now faces the additional charges of:
Break and enter (23 counts)
Theft of motor vehicle (seven counts)
Break and enter a place and steal a firearm (six counts)
Break and enter with intent to steal a firearm
Possession of property obtained by crime (11 counts)
Scott meanwhile was charged with:
Possession of property obtained by crime (16 counts)
Possession of a firearm obtained by crime (18 counts)
Careless storage of a firearm obtained by crime (four counts)
Possession of a prohibited device (three counts)
Removing vehicle identification number
No additional charges have been laid against him.
