November is carbon monoxide safety month, and the Norfolk County fire department wants to make sure you’re safe from a carbon monoxide disaster.
Fire prevention officer Michael Atkins gave us some of the details about why carbon monoxide is so dangerous.
Atkins also added that despite what rumours may say, carbon monoxide is not dense enough to sink to the floor, and will spread evenly throughout the air, meaning you can place your alarm as high or as low as you want.
The Norfolk County fire department also recommends that you read the owner’s manual for your carbon monoxide alarms so that you know when an actual emergency is taking place
