Tuesday night at Council, the County’s Heritage and Culture department presented a report, hoping to enforce an order to restore designated features at the old Vittoria Baptist Church.
The Good Bread Company began renovating the building, which they purchased as part of an expansion, a few years ago.
As part of the renovation, a designated staircase rail, interior stained glass, and two heavy doors were removed, which the Heritage and Culture department noted and brought up in Tuesday’s presentation.
Richard Posavad, co-owner of the business, has already incorporated numerous designated features into the bakery, which Councillors noted, as they agreed to de-list the features Posavad couldn’t include.
Posavad is happy that the ordeal is over, inviting people to come out and see how the renovations on the church went.
One part of the church Posavad wasn’t able to keep was a large mural.
He explains that several parties offered to take it for him, but were unwilling to take on the expense.
