
A man and woman have been arrested following a string of thefts across Southwestern Ontario.
All these thefts occurred while residents were away from the home attending funeral services.
The OPP has been looking into the incident since the first case occurred back in August of 2018.
Recently, the Elgin and Middlesex Community Street Crime Unit brought to people into custody in connection to these crimes.
That was Inspector Brad Fishleigh.
45-year-old Krystle Oag and 55-year-old Ian Scott of Dutton-Dunwich are facing dozens of charges related to break and enters, theft, and theft of firearms.
Oag has been charged with:
- Break and enter
- Possess break in instruments
- Obstruct peace officer
- Removing vehicle identification number
- Assault peace officer (two counts)
- Possession of property obtained by crime (16 counts)
- Possession of a firearm obtained by crime (18 counts)
- Careless storage of a firearm obtained by crime (four counts)
- Possession of a prohibited device (three counts)
Scott has been charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime (16 counts)
- Possession of a firearm obtained by crime (18 counts)
- Careless storage of a firearm obtained by crime (four counts)
- Possession of a prohibited device (three counts)
- Removing vehicle identification number
Police are asking anyone who may have had items stolen while at a funeral service to please contact them immediately.
