Judd Industrial Park in Simcoe is set to welcome two newcomers, the Autofeed Corporation and FIGR Norfolk Inc.
Autofeed Corporation, which manufactures machine integrators as well as parts handling equipment and service was established in 1988 in Hamilton and was acquired by their current ownership in 2005.
After recently outgrowing their current space, Autofeed purchased around 1.2 hectares of land for a new 10,000 sq. ft. manufacturing plant for a second division.
Construction is expected to be completed in 2020 and will likely expand within 5 years.
The other newcomer is FIGR Norfolk, previously known as Goldleaf Pharm.
The licensed cannabis producer has been operating in Norfolk since 2018 and currently has a 20,000 square foot production facility in the park but will be building a new 800,000 square-foot production facility that will create over 400 jobs.
Construction on FIGR’s project is expected to take 18 months.
Norfolk County’s Economic Development Supervisor Chris Garwood is excited about the two companies.
In a recent media release he says that it’s great news for all of Norfolk County, and that the two businesses will help to create jobs and will be a boon for businesses in the area.
