The Norfolk OPP have a new Detachment Commander

It’s now official.

West Region OPP Chief Superintendent John Cain announced on Monday that Inspector Joseph Varga is the new Detachment Commander of the Norfolk OPP.

Varga officially takes over the role from Interim Detachment Commander Lisa Anderson.

Varga has 24-years of policing under his belt serving with the Halton Regional Police Service and the Haldimand-Norfolk Regional Police Service before its amalgamation with the OPP in 1998.

He has served in several different roles, including as a Forensic Identification Officer before being promoted to a Sergeant with the OPP in 2012.
