Simcoe Lions to invest $250G towards proposed HUB

The Simcoe Lions are being vocal about their support for a community HUB.

On Tuesday, our Simcoe Lions Club flooded into the council chambers as the Chair of Major Project Committee Gordon Mayo spoke on behalf of the group.

He said that the Lions are behind a multi-use recreational facility in Simcoe and they are willing to put money down to show it.

Mayo adds they do this without knowing where it will be, what elements will be involved, and the initial process just starting in the county.

He said they decided it was vital that they show their support for this project as soon as possible.

Mayo also noted that the vote was 100 per cent unanimous for spending this money with the group having members ranging from their 20’s to their 80’s.

He also made mention that the Lions played a role in the construction of the Rec Centre and Talbot Gardens, but it was time to move on with something new.
