Port Dover will be the place to be on Canada Day

The longest running Canada Day parade in the nation will roll through the streets of Port Dover on Sunday.

The boat parade at the harbor begins at 11 a.m., and the big parade along Main Street will start at 2 p.m.

Port Dover Board of Trade President Adam Veri says people looking for a spot will want to arrive early.

The Canada Day festivities in Dover begin at 9 a.m. — that’s when the soapbox derby will take place at Main and Chapman Street.

The contest is open to children 8 to 14 years old.

The Canada Day celebrations will wrap up at Silver Lake Park with a fireworks show at approximately 10 p.m.

Port Dover has been celebrating Canada’s birthday since confederation.
