Longtime Ward 6 councilor John Wells wants four more years at Townhall

In a surprising announcement, longtime Ward 6 councilor John Wells announced that he will be seeking re-election this October.

The news comes as a shocker — he announced last year that he would not be running again — Wells even held Townhall style meetings to give advice so new candidates could take his place.

We spoke with the three candidates currently running in Ward 6, who were just as stunned as anyone.

Dong Long, Jeff Miller and Amy Martin weighed in on the decision.

Though Wells did not wish to go into much detail, he stated that due to changing circumstances he has decided to file his paperwork, for now, knowing that there is an option to withdraw his paperwork before the cut off date at the end of July.
