Heat stroke the primary concern for health officials this long weekend

Heat and humidity – expect to feel a lot of both this Canada Day Long weekend. A heat warning is in effect for Haldimand-Norfolk and Southern Ontario.

Daytime highs are expected to reach the low to mid-30s with humidex values in the 40s, something that could be dangerous for your health.

Health officials say heat stroke is the primary concern.

As for your pets, if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for them.

Locals experts say never leave a pet in a hot car.

Those working outdoors will need to focus on staying hydrated.
