Thunderstorms for Wednesday and scorching heat for the Canada Day long weekend.
Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement saying that showers and thunderstorms are forecast to affect Southwestern Ontario late overnight Tuesday and throughout that day on Wednesday.
The worst of the storms are expected early Wednesday morning through midday with 30 to 50 mm of rain possible.
Meanwhile, from Friday to Monday daytime highs are expected to be in the low to mid-30’s with humidex values into the mid-40’s.
It doesn’t get much better when the sun goes down either with temperatures only falling down to the low-20’s overnight.
That being said, EC actually does not know when this heat event will officially come to an end.
Current weather patterns suggesting this hot and humid weather will continue into the middle of next week.
They predict that heat warnings will be issued as we approach the weekend.
