It’s no surprise that Norfolk County has had its fair share of “issues” with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.
Whether it be the Ministry essentially washing its hands clean of Misner Dam or turning a blind eye to some natural gas concerns, Norfolk County Council has been vocal about these headaches.
However, on Friday a step in the right direction occurred.
Haldimand-Norfolk MPP Toby Barrett was appointed Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry – essentially putting him and Minister Jeff Yurek at the top of the chain.
It means he will be one of the top people looking at our issues.
When it comes to Misner Dam, Barrett said that he has always been a supporter of bringing back Silver Lake.
He adds that with his role, himself and Yurek may be in a better position to assist with Misner Dam.
In a vote of 5 to 4, Norfolk County Council voted last week to do nothing with the dam for the time being.
