A skatepark is in the works for the town Waterford, and a local group is working with the County to see if this could be a reality.
The group has been working hard in the background speaking with community members, setting up a board, and even going as far as designing a logo and working on a website.
They have also been working with County staff and have narrowed nine possible locations down to three.
That was Kerry Bockenholt who spoke to our elected officials.
The proposed skatepark is estimated at $200,000 and Bockenholt requested that council look at this during budget deliberations next year.
Locally, they plan on starting to fundraise next month with their Steak and Skate event July 15 put on by the Waterford Chamber of Commerce.
Mayor Charlie Luke put forward the motion to have this issue discussed during budget time, which was approved.
