Flu Season has officially arrived in Norfolk County.

The Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit has three confirmed cases.

One case was influenza A while the other two were influenza B.

Acting Medical Officer of Health Dr. Malcom Lock told the Board of Health on Tuesday that area health officials have been tracking a virus in Australia and had fears that it could spread to Canada.

In fact, the vaccine may only prove to be about 10 percent effective.

Most of the cases in Australia were from type A which causes most of the problems like infections and complications such as pneumonia and hospital stays.
