BIG CHANGES ARE COMING TO AREA ONTARIO EARLY YEARS CENTRES 11/10/2017 7:09:34 AM
Significant shake-ups are coming at the Ontario Early Years Centres.
Tuesday night at council, staff spoke about how these facilities along Family Resource Centres and others will be condensed into one group known at Ontario Early Years Child and Family Centres or Early On for short.
For the Ontario Early Years, Haldimand Norfolk REACH has been running the show but come September of 2018 that could be vastly different.
This new program will shift to the county starting January 1st, with REACH still overseeing the transition period of these building turning into Early On centers.
But after September, these facilities could have new people leading the way.
That was Heidi VanDyk, Manager of Haldimand and Norfolk Social Services and Social Housing.
This is a provincially mandated change and no word yet on if REACH will apply to retain overseeing their current facilities.
They are also looking at expanding the programs after getting public feedback.
The goal is to extend hours at the Hagersville, Delhi, and Waterford main offices and open up four new satellite offices in Jarvis, Fisherville, Langton, and Simcoe.
