A trio from Brantford accused of shoplifting from Walmart led the Norfolk OPP on a wild chase. Police say two men and one woman were caught loading stolen items into their vehicle on Sunday and when they realized they were being watched -- they drove off.

COUNCIL APPROVES NEW SIDEWALK FOR EVERGREEN HILL ROAD

A new item has been added to the Capital Budget: Road and sidewalk construction on Evergreen Hill Road in Simcoe. The $2 million project, which wasn't scheduled to be completed until 2022 or 2023, got pushed up Tuesday night at Council due to student safety.

The results from the Port Dover motorcycle rally are in, and the OPP is reporting very little trouble. Officers say they arrested several intoxicated people and recovered a stolen motorcycle, but for the most part, people were well behaved.

A close call for an OPP officer out on patrol in Port Rowan. Around 2 in the morning on Sunday, a car nearly collided with a police cruiser after a vehicle crossed the center line. It happened on Wolven Street.

A crash in Windham has sent a Norfolk County man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The crash occurred Friday when police say the 21-year-old man was traveling down Mall road when the vehicle left the roadway, collided with the embankment, and rolled several times.

Haldimand OPP are investigating a fatal collision in Cayuga. Police say on Monday morning, a 20-year-old Haldimand County woman lost control of her pickup truck on Concession 5 and struck a woman jogging at the side of the road.

No drones in Port Dover. The Norfolk OPP say the airspace over the lakeside town is off limits today. They refer to section 5.1 of the Aeronautics Act that says airspace is restricted during police operations, except for police, medevac and rescue aircraft.

A Norfolk County man will be thinking twice the next time he hunts for deer out of season. A Langton-area man has been fined $2,000 for hunting white-tailed deer out of season and has been banned from hunting for two full years. The matter was heard at a Simcoe Courtroom.

The Norfolk OPP are turning to the public to locate a missing man. Police say 49-year-old John Oliver Pearo was last seen on October 3rd. Other residents at the Victoria Street home in Simcoe saw Pearo packing a bag before leaving the property.

The new Delhi Library is nearing completion. From October 24th to the 28th, the Delhi branch will be closed to make the transfer over to the new building. The new branch, located at 192 Main Street, with officially open on Halloween.
