FARMER OUT $2000 AFTER A GAS THEFT

A Walsingham farmer is dealing with the loss of over 1200 litres of fuel after a gas theft over the weekend. The theft happened early Friday morning when someone drove to the back of the farm to the gas tanks. The value of the fuel taken is valued around $2000.

MAN TRIES TO STEAL CASH FROM THE NGH CAFETERIA

A botched theft at the Norfolk General Hospital is being investigated by the Norfolk OPP. According to police a man tried to take the cash out of the register at the NGH cafeteria. He ran off when his plan to nab the money was interrupted by one of the hospital employees.

POLICE ISSUE A NUMBER OF FINES OVER THE LONG WEEKEND

The Norfolk OPP say they responded to more than 240 calls for service over the long weekend. Const. Ed Sanchuk says he's a bit concerned people aren't getting the message as police issued a number of fines.

Police are once again reminding the public about the dangers of buying and selling items online. The most recent example happened just down the road in Brant County on Sunday where a woman was robbed at knifepoint after putting an ad online trying to sell her puppies.

WINTER ICEBREAKING ALONG LAKE ERIE DONE FOR THE SEASON

The winter icebreaking operation on Lake Erie is officially over for the season. This year, Coast Guard icebreakers from both Canada and the U-S kept up the effort of what's known as ``Operation Coal Shovel'' for 128 days.

POWER OUTAGE ON FRIDAY CAUSED BY ANIMAL CONTACT

It was a traditional Good Friday for a good portion of Simcoe residents without power for 92 minutes on Friday. Turns out the power outage was caused by animal contact with one of the main feeders at the Bloomsburg Station.
