SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT AND WIND WARNING ISSUED FOR NORFOLK

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Norfolk which includes a strong wind warning. Sustained wind speeds of 60 to 70 km an hour are expected today with gusts reaching as high as 100 km per hour. The strong winds could cause some tree damage and power outages.

GAS TAX WILL HELP RIDE NORFOLK

Ontario is providing Ride Norfolk with just over $127-thousand dollars in gas tax funding to help expand and improve its public transit. And that's up from last year, according to Public Transportation Coordinator Brad Smith. Smith tells us what the funding does for the tax payer.

Norfolk County OPP is urging residents to keep your doors locked after several home invasion investigations. On Wednesday (Nov. 19), sometime overnight unknown suspects forcibly entered a home on Beech Street in Delhi and stole jewellery.

A Norfolk man has been charged after attracting the attention of the OPP. On Thursday (Nov. 20), just after 6:00pm, members of the Street Crime Unit were on patrol near Head Street North when they stopped vehicle that caught their attention.

LPRCA ISSUES FLOOD OUTLOOK

The Long Point Conservation Authority has issued a flood outlook for the region. An early start to winter has the rapid snow melt is causing concerns on our local watercourses. We are also expected to get some rain over the weekend.

POPPY BOX THIEVES IDENTIFIED: POLICE NEED PUBLIC'S HELP IN FINDING THEM

Police need your help in identifying two suspects accused of stealing a poppy donation box from the Simcoe Mall on Remembrance Day. The box was removed from a store counter near the food court and was later found outside with all of the money taken.

With the season well under way area hockey teams are gearing up for another action packed weekend. The action kicks off on Friday with the Simcoe Storm traveling to Grimsby for their game at 7:30 p.m. The Delhi Travelers hit the trail towards Tavistock for the same time.

TIM HORTONS TO INCREASE COFFEE PRICES: EXPERTS SURPRISED IT DIDN'T SPIKE MORE

Tim Hortons is blaming lack of rain in Brazil for its decision to raise coffee prices. Starting Wednesday, the cost of a cup of coffee will rise by an average of 10-cents, but Tims says the increase might vary by region.
