FIRE DESTROYS GARAGE ON PORT RYERSE ROAD

Officials with Norfolk Fire and Rescue Services are trying to determine what caused a garage to burst up in flames on Port Ryerse Road. Fire crews were called to the scene just before 5-am on Wednesday with flames clearly visible from the structure.

SALVATION ARMY RUNNING SHORT ON VOLUNTEERS

Officials with the Salvation Army say they are running short on volunteers willing to stand by a kettle. With the Kettle Campaign well underway, Coordinator Jim Lewis says they have about 25 volunteer spots sitting empty, and they are primarily in the afternoons.

Quite the scene at the McDonald's in Dunnville. Police say that on Tuesday, around 4:20 p.m., a 21-year-old Dunnville man entered the location to grab a bite to eat. The man had previously been served a notice not to attend that location, so staff refused to help him.

It may not be increased by hundreds of percent, but Holding Tank users can expect a spike in their bills beginning in January. So can all other water users in Norfolk, though most will be less noticeable than the holding tanks.

The Highway of Heroes will be draped with Canadian flags this afternoon for a military funeral procession for an Air Force pilot killed in last week's CF-18 training crash near the Alberta-Saskatchewan boundary.

DIESEL SPILL NEAR DELHI

A big spill near Delhi. On Monday, at around 4 p.m., a tractor tipped on Swimming Pool Road near Windham Road 11 spilling around 150 liters of diesel fuel. Police say the 16-year-old female was not injured and police are still investigating.

HOSPICE CARE COMING TO PORT DOVER

According to reports the Port Dover Lions and the Rotary Club of Norfolk Sunrise each put in money to bring the Stedman Community Hospice to Dover. The office will facilitate a local palliative care team which will be lead by Dr. Robin Martin-Godelie of Simcoe.
