Temperatures are expected to soar today, prompting a special weather statement from Environment Canada. A warm and humid airmass could trigger temperatures as high as 30 degrees celcius with humidex values hitting mid to high thirties in many areas.

ROBBERY ON THE LYNN VALLEY TRAIL IN SIMCOE

Police are trying to track down a suspect who robbed a man on the Lynn Valley Trail. The Norfolk County OPP say just before 6 p.m. a man was standing with another male known to him in the trail when the man pulled out a knife and demanded money.

POLICE RELEASE NAME OF DECEASED PASSENGER IN HIGHWAY 53 CRASH

Brant OPP has released the name of the passenger who died following a single vehicle collision on Highway 53. On Tuesday, around 3:10 a.m., the driver of a Ford Focus lost control on the highway and collided with a tree.

The posted hours for the Splash Park in Simcoe are no longer correct. The Kinsmen Splash Park opened for the season last weekend with water scheduled to run 10 a.m until 7 p.m.

PORT DOVER'S ICONIC LIGHTHOUSE TO RECEIVE HERITAGE STATUS ON SUNDAY

Lynndale Heights Public School in Simcoe has done their part to help those in Fort McMurray, by raising over $1000. It started when a little girl in a Junior Kindergarten class heard about the wildfires in Alberta and wanted to assist by raising money for Red Cross.

WOMAN ARRESTED AFTER MAKING DEATH THREATS

A 42-year old Norfolk County woman is facing several charges after an argument turned violent. On Wednesday morning, OPP officers rushed to a home on the Lakeshore Road in the Houghton area after a woman allegedly pulled out a weapon on a man she was fighting with.

WATERFORD'S FARMERS MARKET ROLLS OUT ON JUNE 15TH

We're just weeks away from the official opening of Waterford's first Farmers Market. Claire Senko, who sits on the founding committee, says they have set June 15th as their soft opening date. The farmers market will run on Wednesday evenings from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
