A church bandit broke one of the Ten Commandments, and he now has the Norfolk OPP looking for him. During Sunday service at St. James United Church in Simcoe, a man walked into the building and stole credit cards and money from a purse that was stored in an unlocked locker.

PROVINCE CANCELS CONTRACTS FOR SOLAR, WIND AND RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES

Ontario says it doesn't need extra power so it is cancelling plans to sign contracts for solar, wind and renewable energy sources. Energy Minister Glenn Thibeault says the decision will keep rates down for consumers and save the province 3.8-billion dollars.

Provincial Police say they will show no mercy to drivers who refuse to fasten up their seatbelts. Starting today, the Norfolk OPP is rolling out a ten-day long blitz aimed at motorists who refuse to buckle up.

PLANS CANCELLED FOR NEW MEDICAL CENTRE IN PORT DOVER

Port Dover will not be building a new medical centre. Tuesday night at Town Hall Councillor John Wells shared the news that the Port Dover Community Medical Centre Committee will not be moving forward with plans to develop the new state of the art facility.

MAN CHARGED WITH ROBBERY AT FIRST ONTARIO

A Norfolk County man is facing robbery charges after an incident occurred at the First Ontario bank in Simcoe. Police say on Saturday, around 12:30 a.m., a man became involved in a verbal argument with two males as they were leaving the bank machine at the Queensway location.

95-YEAR OLD PATIENT ATTACKED AT THE NGH

An investigation is underway after a 95-year old patient was attacked at the Norfolk General Hospital. OPP investigators say hospital staff called for help after a 62-year old man, who was also a patient, walked into a room and assaulted a 95-year old with a weapon.

54 CHARGES LAID IN CONNECTION WITH WILD POLICE CHASE

Two men are facing a combined 54 charges following a wild police chase in the Shedden-area Friday night. The incident saw four police officers sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after their vehicles were struck.
